PROGRAM MANAGER


Shane Sibert operates as the Program Manager of Southwest Florida Urban Search & Rescue (FL-TF6). He is responsible for the overall operations of the Task Force and answers directly to the Board of Directors.

Shane is among the few original members of the Task Force since its inception and served as a Rescue / Search Specialist and eventually becoming an instructor for Flood & Swiftwater Rescue / Boat Operations and Rope Rescue, as well as performing Safety Officer duties.

Shane started his fire service career with Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District in 1989 as a volunteer. He excelled through the ranks over the years and became a Deputy Chief with the department and retired in 2011.

Shane also served as a law enforcement officer with Lee County Sheriff’s Office in a part-time / full-time capacity for 20 years, during his tenure he performed the duties of Special Operations Unit (SWAT) Medic, Region VI Waterborne Strike Team, US Marshal’s Fugitive Warrant Task Force, Trainer / Instructor and retired in 2016.

Shane joined Estero Fire Rescue in 2016 as a Firefighter / Paramedic. He was promoted to Battalion Chief and FL-TF6 Program Manager in 2018.

Outside of US&R and the Fire Service, he enjoys working as an instructor for the Public Safety Academy specializing in law enforcement, fire, and EMT disciplines.
